E-learning refers to the use of ICTs in education. E-learning platforms integrate heterogeneous data (e.g., books, articles, annotations, tests, slides)

Description

Development and integration of data mining systems able to extract interesting knowledge from e-learning data

Current issues

  • Summarization of textual teaching materials (e.g., handbooks)
  • Automatic generation of slides, tests, and annotations
  • Inference of the skill levels of e-learning system users from the manual annotations
  • Enrichment of teaching materials with information coming from social networks and blogs
